Moving towards an open virtual learning environment – APRU 2011 – Mexico

As universities start to explore and use web 2.0 technologies in their teaching, the role of traditional virtual learning environments (VLE) becomes more passive.
These VLE are also trying hard to catch up with the new influx of new technologies such as mobile computing and gesture-based computing.
This presentation explores the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) integrated virtual learning environment (IVLE) move towards an open API and how it greatly benefited the university.
